Congratulations to my sis finally getting hired by Wise County to teach. Got a job at PV they voted on it last night at the school board meeting. She is replacing a Shipley woman that taught there till this year.

I say it is about time because she has been ceritfied and out of college (where she graduated in the top 20 of her class at Clinch Valley) for 14 years. And guess what she passed the test to get certified the first time she took it, she also has teaching experience at MECC. She taught the adult education program there for 3-4 years and that was 4 years ago when she stopped doing that and just worked in the talent search program their since. It just pi$$es me off that all you hear about is somebody about to loose their teaching jobe because their 2 year probation till they pass the test is about to end and they still can't pass the test. This happens and you have certified ready to teach people out there that they won't even look at till they get in a bind and they have a teacher leave a few weeks before school starts and they have to hire somebody that can actually do the job without any exemtions. Although she does have one exemption that the job she finally got was not in her area of certification so she will be waiting to pass the test in this new area, when she has been passed over for jobs in her area at least 5 times to others that hadn't passed any test yet let alone the one in their certification.

But anyway this is not a thread to start a war with all the people in Appy cause someone couldn't pass a test it is to CONGRATULATE my sis on finally getting the jobe she has wanted and been qualified to have for years and finally she has gotten it.

She is certified in Business and will be teaching I believe either Political Science or what used to be Home Ec, I don't know what they call it now.
